What is required to rent a storage unit?

You must be 18 years or older and have a government-issued photo ID to rent a storage unit. There is a one-month minimum. At the time of rental, you will be charged the first month’s rent(the second month will be pro-rated) and also a cleaning deposit equal to half of the monthly rent amount. Cleaning Deposit is fully refundable if your unit is left clean when vacated. We do not charge move-In, move-out, or admin fees.

How can I make a payment?

Paying your bill is quick and easy. Our office accepts Credit Cards, Cash, and Checks. You can pay online, by mail, bring your payment to our office, or enroll in the NO LATE FEE GUARANTEE PROGRAM by signing up for automatic payment. If you pay with a check, please make it payable to Benner Mini Storage.

When is rent due?

Your rent is always due on the first day of each month. We do not send monthly bills unless you have made arrangements with our office to receive a bill. Enroll in our NO LATE FEE GUARANTEE PROGRAM to avoid late fees!

Does this facility use pest control?

As a preventive measure, Benner Mini Storage has contracted with Humboldt Termite and Pest control to place and routinely service bait stations throughout our facility.

What am I not allowed to store?

No hazardous waste, illegal substances, stolen items, firearms, or flammables of any kind(including but not limited to gas, propane, diesel, and explosives) can be stored within this facility. Please do not store any living things, personal hygiene items, or any perishable or food items of any kind. Also, we recommend that you do not store furs, jewelry, or other expensive, irreplaceable items.

With sizes of units are available at Benner Mini Storage?

We offer units from a 3x5 all the way up to a 20x40. With 22 sizes to choose from, Benner MiniStorage has many different options and sizes to meet the storage needs of both residential and commercial customers. Our facility also has heated units and some larger units with 24-hour access, lights, and electricity. Call our office for more information about the different sizes of storage units we offer.

What is required for Vehicle Storage?

We have a variety of options to store your car, boat, motorcycle, trailer, RV, or other titled property. It needs to be running, insured and registered to whomever rents the space. Our office will require a copy of the registration; we can make a copy for you. If you store avehicle inside of a unit, you will need to place a drip pan under it.

How do I change my address, email or telephone number?

If you have a change of contact information, please notify our office as soon as you can. We must receive a signed written notice from the tenant listed as the unit owner on the contract before we can officially update your account.

What kind of lock do I need?

In our experience in the self-storage industry, we have found that round disk-style locks offer the highest levels of security. We offer free locks with new rentals. As a service to our customers, our maintenance staff routinely lubricates all tenant locks twice a year.

What is the move out process?

We do not require any notice prior to moving out. When you are done with the unit, please leave it broom clean—ask us for a broom and dustpan if you need one. Remember to remove your lock and leave the pallets. Stop by the office on your way out to let us know you are done with the unit and to pick up your cleaning deposit refund. If you have moved out after office hours, please call and leave a message to let us know you have vacated the unit.

Is Benner Mini Storage LOCAL and is there staff onsite?

What is the minimum rental term, and is notice required to move out?

We offer a flexible month-to-month tenancy with a minimum rental term of one month. We do not require any notice if you decide to move out. The first month’s rent is paid in full at the time of move-in, and the second month will be pro-rated to account for the days you were not here in the first month.

When are office and gates open? Is Benner Mini Storage ever closed?

For your convenience, Benner Mini Storage is open and has STAFF ON-SITE 7 DAYS A WEEK. The office is open daily from 9 AM to 5:30 PM, and Gate Access hours are 7 AM to 7 PM, with the exemption of the following major holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas where both office and gate will be closed.

Is the personal property that I store insured and is insurance required?

We are not liable to you for any damage or loss to your stored goods. You must obtain insurance or bear the risk of loss or damage yourself. Sometimes homeowner's or renters insurance policies may cover a storage unit, or you can choose to purchase a tenant protection plan. We do not require tenants to purchase self-storage insurance, but we highly recommend that you have some sort of coverage. Ask our office staff for more information!
